Sponsor Linda and Help Orphans in Zimbabwe
Articles

Linda Denne is a very special friend of ours who lives in Surrey. She combines a hectic family life with a demanding job and is also a leader in her church.
On 17 April, Linda will make history for Jubilee Campaign by becoming our first supporter to take part in the biggest annual fund raising event on the planet – she will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for orphans in Zimbabwe.

Linda was inspired by a recent BBC TV documentary ‘Zimbabwe’s Forgotten Children’, a powerful film made by our good friends at True Vision with whom we have worked on several projects including ‘The Dying Rooms of China’.
After watching ‘Zimbabwe’s Forgotten Children’ Linda was determined to do something to help this desperate situation, and on Sunday 17 April, she will keep her promise. She will be exhausted when she finally crosses the finish line in London – but she said that it will be worth it if people are challenged to support her.
‘I wanted to do something to help Children at Risk in Zimbabwe so I decided to run in the London Marathon to raise money,’ Linda explained. ‘Zimbabwe isn’t front page news anymore and sometimes it feels like no one cares. But if we don’t help orphans in Zimbabwe, who will?’
All the money raised by Linda’s marathon run will be used for the work of Jessica’s House, a project that has been set up in memory of Danny Smith’s beloved daughter Jessica to help orphans in Zimbabwe.
Thousands of children live in Zimbabwe without parents, homes, food or medical care. We can’t help all the children overnight but as Mother Teresa said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
If you can sponsor Linda’s incredible marathon run of 26 miles and 385 yards (!), please send your gift by cheque to Jubilee Campaign, PO Box700, Addlestone, Surrey KT15 9BW or donate online through Just Giving or PayPal.
Thank you so much.
