World Health Organisation (WHO)
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
The right to education is one of the most important rights proclaimed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, because education is considered by the Declaration to be not only a right in itself but also a means of promoting peace and respect.
Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD)
WFD funds projects around the world which are aimed at building and strengthening pluralist democracies. It was established by the United Kingdom Foreign Office in 1992, but is independent in setting its priorities and in its choice of projects.
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot, Paris). The Guinness Book of Records describes the UDHR as the "Most Translated Document".
The United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and the achieving of world peace.
UNESCO is a specialized agency of the United Nations established on 16 November 1945. Its stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture.
