Who we are
Jubilee Campaign, with consultative status at the UN, can now extend its mission and combine both lobbying and charitable action to help even more Children at Risk.Jubilee Campaign is an effective human rights pressure group that tackles the cause of injustice and has been successful at bringing real and lasting change for Children at Risk and Persecuted Christian families worldwide.
David Alton (Lord Alton of Liverpool) launched Jubilee Campaign in Parliament in 1987 with Danny Smith and others after the success of the Campaign to free the Siberian Seven.
Jubilee Campaign was awarded consultative status at the UN and helped to set up the All Party Parliamentary Group on Street Children and served as its secretariat since its inception in 1992.
New charitable laws in the UK has made it possible for Jubilee Campaign to extend its mission and the group have applied for charitable status to provide direct practical help where it will really make a difference and change more lives. This important development will enable Jubilee Campaign to work in strategic partnerships with people such as Fr Shay Cullen’s Preda Foundation in the Philippines, and with Revd K.K. Devaraj’s Bombay Teen Challenge in India.
